In2010, inconjunctionwiththeGroup’s50thanniversary,
MaybankFoundationwas inauguratedas themainvehicle
for corporate responsibilityacross theGroup.Maybank
Foundation’smandate is to identifyprogrammes thatwill
have themost tangibleandsustainable results - efforts that
will bringmeasurablechangeover the longterm.
Through strategic partnerships with local stakeholders and NGOs, the Foundation’s focus
is to enhance quality of life for all, especially the less fortunate,
irrespective of race, gender, or creed.
Maybank Foundation’s predecessor,
Tabung Kebajikan Kumpulan Maybank (TKKM), was a trust fund set up in 1990 in order to
provide medical assistance and social welfare support to the community. Over the years, it
grew to include sustainable economic and community development, arts and culture, and
environmental conservation.
Maybank Foundation replaced TKKM as a beacon of hope for those who have fallen
through the gaps in society. With an initial pledge of RM50 million from the Group
to be disbursed over three years, Maybank Foundation’s mandate is to positively impact
communities in the markets where Maybank operates.
The focus is to expand our impact across the region, touching lives wherever we
operate, and empowering communities to build a better future, both for present and
future generations.
